Our project is simple: two old high school friends face off in an open-ended gardening competition. The terms are this: garden as you will in the way you can using what materials your environment needs. Mix in some seeds, soil and a few trowels, and you have SuperKasey and BraceKyle: the green-thumbed competitors!
We are taking our gardening and green-living passions to cyberspace. Its urban vs. rural gardening, raised beds vs. garden plots as we toil away on our dreams of backyard produce.
Both of us will track our costs, the time put into our gardens and our eventual harvests. Rather than seeing who simply gets more than the other, we’ll determine the winner of the gardening season by who launches the most efficient and exciting garden endeavor.
The letters you will see here compare our methods and madness as we garden in two very different growing regions of the United States.

Whether arctic or tropic, urban or rural, we hope that you will enjoy our challenge and maybe learn a tidbit or two as we sew, grow and harvest. We’re learning as we go, too.
If all goes well, we might make this an annual endeavor. Who knows? No one knows. It is unknown.
