Hey BraceKyle,
As said in my last post, I had two days of freedom from work before my trip to Maine (stay tuned). Day One was HOT! So hot that after 30 minutes outside, I got dizzy. I took many breaks, but still managed to get my salad plot planted.
Refresher: my salad plot is the groomed bed that is not where I have been working to date. It has been untouched between my neighbors gardens. I was saving it for all items that are planted directly into the soil. Here was my plan.
I am trying two different styles of planting. Both are companion plantings: where the plants grow at different rates in a way where the roots don’t interfere with each other. In one section I lay them out in rows. In the section to the left of it, I simply scattered the seeds of the same plant varieties. We’ll see how each side turns out. For now, the rows are winning.
This was a pretty basic project, but took all day because of the heat. You can see everything that was planted in the plan. How do you like that?
Hope your lettuce is delicious BraceKyle!
Stay tuned for the word on what happened in Day Two of No Dayjob!
